The Coochie Art Group was founded in 1972 by Charles Barnett, an artist of some distinction and he taught an enthusiastic group of students on Coochiemudlo Island for many years. We first began painting at Pullen Hall and later at the Community Hall. The group has flourished under a variety of excellent tutors. Our members are enthusiastic and classes are well attended and welcoming. We are now the only major art group in the Redlands that always employs professional, first-class tutors, for each term’s lessons. Our tutors provide classes in many different media and genres – including watercolour, acrylics, pastel, drawing, mixed media, and coloured pencil. Our classes are also reasonable in cost and visitors are always welcome, if space in the class permits. If you would like to pop into our class and see us in action, or for more information, please contact Gail on 0429 174 818 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The Mission Statement of the Coochie Art Group is:
“To bring together, through regular meetings, people with a common interest in art, in an atmosphere of friendship, caring and support.”
Coochie Group meets for lessons in the Community Hall, approximately 4 times per term. We start at 9.00 am and finish at 3.00pm. In Term 1, we’ll welcome a favourite tutor – talented artist, Jan Lawnikanis, who will be teaching us coloured pencil.
